Valentine's Day

I have always found that the girls are the romantic ones in a relationship.  For Valentine's day this year my bf and I had a quiet night in with dinner and a movie. I also bought him some lovely cupcakes as a surprise treat for dessert!!

The next day he gave me my present - a sodastream. I really wanted a sodastream but it definitely was not what I was expecting. It was lovely, but not romantic. Although he did give me the sweetest card. When I think about it it was the sweetest thing ever because he got me what I had wanted, not a useless bunch of flowers or chocolates. Although I do love those things every now and then.
But the best bit is that he actually listened to what I say and got me something I had been wanting. Hear that ladies?? Men listen! ;)

ILoveThisBox February 2012

This is my favourite box for February! It contains everything you need to prepare yourself for a beautiful Valentine's Day!
This box contained FOUR FULL SIZE products! The Keratinology overnight treatment from Sunsilk, the Rose and Patchouli hand cream by the Aromatherapy Co, the cute little themed nail file and the Rimmel lipgloss in the shade 'First Kiss'.

Red Door by Elizabeth Arden is another sample featured in the February box it the cutest, most adorable packaging! A great 10ml sample size to keep in the handbag for a pretty pick-me-up.

My favourite product was definitely the Rimmel lipgloss with the value of $14.95. This product is something I would purchase myself so it was fantastic to get it in my box! The colour is a beautiful rose pink with a sparkly topcoat filled with blue and silver glitter particles.

I was also very impressed with the handcream, it has a lovely rose scent and is much bigger than the Sass N Savy samples received in other Beauty Boxes - and I have to say it's alot nicer too!

ILoveThisBox also packed in some lovely hot pink jellybeans (not pictured).  By far this has been my favourite Beauty Box due to the amount of full size products, and the variety of products too.  Let's hope next month's box is just as spectacular!

Bella Box February 2012

The Valentine's Day box from Bella Box! Unfortunately this month was not my favourite box out of all the monthly boxes mainly due to the fact that there was simply so many amazing offerings out there.

The highlight of this month's box was the Bloom Eyeshadow, my shade is in London Bridge. I have never really tried Bloom before so I look forward to testing this little guy out. The great thing about this eyeshadow is that it is "stackable", so you can collect different shades and keep them all together.

The Sass N Savy hand cream included in the box was a tiny sample and it was definitely not a product I would repurchase as it felt very lightweight and greasy. The fact that I also got this sample in another Beauty Box was a little disappointing.

The Emergin-C face mask was another tiny sample but in this case I was happy about it. The mask did improve my complexion although when I applied the mask I felt a tingling sensation and when i took it off my face it stung alot and my face was red for an hour. I'm sure this product would be better suited for people who don't have skin as sensitive as mine.

The body soothe we received from Sanctum was a nice sized sample, but I was not thrilled to get this in my box because I recently stayed at a hotel in the Daintree and Sanctum products were part of the amenities. The reason I am not a fan of this product is purely the smell - I hate chamomile. A great product for those who do enjoy the scent of Chamomile as it sinks into the skin nicely.

There were also two chocolate hearts in the box (not pictured) and a soap rose which were lovely little Valentine's additions. This was not the best box from Bella Box but I am looking forward to next month!

Bella Box January 2012

This was my first ever Beauty Box from Bella Box Australia and it was a fantastic introduction! Fresh out of the silly season the theme to this box was "Out with the old, In with the new naturals".
I read other reviews on this month's box and it wasn't a favourite among the cosmetic lovers, but it was a winner for me!

My favourite product from this month's box is the Pangea Organics lip balm in Pyreness Lavender with Cardamom. The balm smells heavenly, and applies beautifully - and it's also double the size of your average lip balm!
I was also impressed with the skincare samples from Pangea Organics, the cleanser in particular felt lovely in the morning but wasn't harsh which you expect from an organic company.

Also featured in this box was a sample of Soleo Sunscreen which worked great but I would have liked a bigger sample to test out. First Aid Beauty repair cream was a nice moisturiser that absorbed into the skin quickly but as with the other samples a bigger sample is needed to test the product properly.

Sparoma Organics included either a candle, roll on or body balm and this month I received the peppermint pulse point aroma. This is a great product to relieve headaches or just for a lovely minty scent.

There was also a sachet of lemon towelettes by Herbal Essentials which are similar to hand sanitisers but not something I would repurchase as I wasn't impressed enough to spend alot of money on sanitiser.
There were 2 perfume samples in this box both by La Perla (a night scent and a day scent). The scents both had woody bases, but the daytime scent had a hint of floral. These were quite nice quality perfumes but I have never heard of them so I am not sure where I can repurchase this item.
Lastly, there were two teas from Qi Tea, Detox and Ginko. I love herbal tea so these went down a treat although I must say that the Gink tea was unusual - maybe I am just not used to the taste!

All in all, this was a good introduction to the year. I loved the full size lip balm and pulse point aroma, and I will definitely be purchasing another lip balm perhaps in another scent.
I would however like to see better value in future boxes in the form of bigger samples as sachet samples can be difficult to judge a product correctly.
